The Masked Singer has revealed its latest star after Kingfisher was booted out of the competition.
Two celebrities will go home this evening, leaving just five stars left in their masks at the end of the evening. Five stars have already been unmasked including Spag Bol, Pegasus, Toad in the Hole, Tattoo and Teeth.
Tonight, it was revealed that Kingfisher would be taking their mask off. Host Joel Dommett and panellists Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Maya Jama were all left stunned by the revelation.
Artist Sir Grayson Perry was revealed to be under the Kingfisher mask. "I can't hear, I can't see, the shock for me taking the hat off was seeing you," he said as Mo Gilligan said he truly embodied the show.
Last week, Teeth was unmasked as popular TV presenter Mel Giedroyc. Speaking about having done the show, Mel said: "I just feel it's a win-win. I didn’t think I’d get this far, I think I've got over half way which is great! It's been so fun. I feel really elated actually. I blooming loved it. I’m sad because my next song was Pointer Sisters, ‘Automatic’ done as Marlene Dietrich. That would have been fun.
"Listen, if you told me you’re going to have a chance to sing the Neighbours theme tune dressed as an enormous pair of wind up teeth with pink tights and big pink flapping feet, I would say I could stop my career now. For me that is the pinnacle!"
Mel revealed that her close friend Sue Perkins had no idea she was going on the show and when asked if she'd be annoyed not knowing, she said: "No, because she didn’t tell me. She was a Dragon and she never told me. So right back at ya girlfriend."
The only person Mel told about going on the show was her husband. Speaking on The After Mask, she revealed: "He took it really seriously. The level of training he took me through at home!"
