The Masked Singer's Pufferfish is unmasked as ITV star in big final
The Masked Singer came to a close tonight with the big final, as host Joel Dommett unmasked the 2025 winner after the remaining three celebrities battled it out
The Masked Singer's Pufferfish has finally been unmasked in the ITV show's grand finale, with host Joel Dommett crowning them as the 2025 series champion. The thrilling final episode saw the last three celebrities - Wolf, Pufferfish and Dressed Crab - vying for the series six title after an intense eight-week competition.
After delivering three performances, the ITV show's panelists - Maya Jama, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross - had one last opportunity to guess the identities of the stars before the big reveal. As the show concluded, Pufferfish was announced as the 2025 victor, with viewers discovering that it was none other than Mamma Mia: I Have A Dream host Samantha Barks beneath the singing sea creature.
Speaking to the celebrity panel post-win, Samantha expressed: "For me, because I've played Elsa for three years, it's been so fun to do lots of different stuff and each week, I wanted to do a new kind of style and new kind of song."
Pufferfish has finally been unmasked as The Masked Singer's final airs on ITV West End and ITV star Samantha Barks was revealed to be PufferfishShe confessed her enjoyment in maintaining the secret and disclosed that all the references to swimming and the sea were nods to her Isle of Man origins. "There were lots of island things," she noted.
"I've had the best time. Underneath the mask, I've been smiling so hard," she gushed. "Thank you all so much for your lovely comments," reports the Mirror.
Samantha first gained recognition on the BBC talent show I'd Do Anything in 2008, securing third place, before nabbing the role of Sally Bowles in the National Tour of Cabaret that same year.
Samantha Barks, 34, has had a dazzling career since her days as Eponine in Les MiseĚrables on the West End and on the big screen. She's now a judge on ITV's Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream and has wowed audiences as Elsa in Frozen on the West End.
In October 2023, Samantha and her stage actor hubby Alex Stoll welcomed their adorable son Rafael Richard Barks-Stoll into the world.
The Masked Singer UK finale was full of surprises, with Grammy winner Gregory Porter unmasked as Dressed Crab, bravely facing his claustrophobia to participate in the show. Earlier, Marti Pellow was revealed as Wolf, finishing third.
He couldn't help but chuckle at some wild guesses from the panel, which included names like Simon Le Bon and David Tennant.
But the finale wasn't without its mysteries â Mo Gilligan was noticeably absent from the judging panel, and the show didn't offer any explanation, leaving fans scratching their heads. Social media was abuzz with questions: "Where is Mo on masked singer he's not even been mentioned? ? ? ? " one fan posted.
Another asked, "Where did Mo go from the Masked Singer ? ? " And yet another echoed, "Where's Mo Gilligan? He's been absent in the past couple of episodes.#MaskedSingerUK #MaskedSinger."
