The Masked Singer aired its huge final tonight on ITV1, with the identities of Dressed Crab, Wolf and Pufferfish being revealed over the course of the special episode.
However, fans weren't surprised to learn that it was Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow behind Wolf after taking to social media over the last eight weeks with their theories. "Who else had a song called Angel Eyes...Wet Wet Wet. Wolf is Marti Pellow. He hardly disguised his voice tonight," one viewer wrote ahead of the final.
Another said on X: "I've said it's Marti Pellow since I heard the first few lines sung weeks ago. Never once been mentioned by the panel, then tonight when Maya said Angel Eyes I thought at last. Then she said ABBA, I give up."

Looking back on the competition, a number of the clues point to singer Marti being behind the canine crooner - including the VT which featured a number of umbrellas, which may have been a hint to his band Wet Wet Wet.
The singer also dropped a number of hints to being in a band, with the VT featuring a t-shirt which read "wolfpack" on the back. He also said in one clue package: "Itâs making me reminisce on the good old days, being overseas and hanging with the gang."
Wolf also revealed in one episode: "High school is where I sniffed out my pack. Now this wolf is ready to go my own way." Marti, 59, formed Wet Wet Wet back in 1982 alongside Neil Mitchell, Tommy Cunningham, Graeme Clark, Mark McLachlan and Lindsey McCauley when all six members were studying at Clydebank High School.

However, Marti announced in 2017 that he was leaving the soft rock band to pursue a solo career - which makes sense with the clues. During the semi-final, Wolf shared that he can't believe he's "still standing" - which is also the name of one of Marti's solo singles.
Meanwhile, in one VT, a cameraman is seen wearing a mitre, the traditional ceremonial headwear worn by bishops, which may have been a reference to Wet Wet Wet's single Love is All Around featuring in the hit Richard Curtis romcom Four Weddings and a Funeral.
