Alex Jones tears up whilst talking about Stacey Dooley's book
The One Show's Alex Jones was visibly moved to tears on the show when she exclaimed, "I can't even say it" during Tuesday's episode (March 11).
Stacey Dooley joined the BBC presenter on the signature green sofa to chat about her upcoming book, Conversations with Remarkable Mothers.
Set to hit bookshelves later this week, Stacey's new work uses her renowned compassion and inquiring nature to delve into the lives of mothers from all walks of life.
Her book compiles heartfelt letters penned by various mothers to their children, kicked off with a touching message from Stacey herself to her little girl, Minnie. This introduction prompted the emotional reaction from Alex, who found it incredibly moving.

BBC)"It is lovely, and there's the whole spectrum of motherhood from every angle, but, of course, it starts with a letter to Minnie. Oh my god, I can't even say it, but it's just so lovely," Alex said as she struggled to hold back her tears, with her co-presenter Clara Amfo offering her comfort.
Alex went on, noting the lighter moments in the book: "It's quite funny as well, actually, because you talk about finding out you were pregnant and, of course, it was in Selfridges," reports Wales Online.
Moreover, during the engaging conversation, Stacey shed light on her motivation behind penning a volume on motherhood and offered a glimpse into her creative process.
She reflected, "We were sort of flirting with the idea of what we wanted to talk about, and whether I had a third book in me. I did definitely want to do another book."

BBC)Asserting that the subject of motherhood was an obvious choice dominating her thoughts, she added: "It was sort of a no-brainer if you know what I mean, motherhood was at the forefront of my mind... I just quite fancied doing something surrounding motherhood.
"It's such an oversaturated market, there's so many books telling you how to do it and I don't know how to do it, so I thought, 'Do you know what? I actually have no authority to kind of hand out any words of advice.'"
Because she felt unqualified to distribute pearls of wisdom, Stacey opted to converse with a variety of mothers from different backgrounds and life scenarios.
"My pregnancy, my birth, my journey has been relatively straightforward, and that's not representative so I wanted it to feel quite universal," she continued.
Reflecting on her sentiments towards the finished work, Stacey expressed: "The mums were just total sweethearts... It's lovely, I'm delighted with it."
