Carole Middleton may have kept her 70th birthday celebrations under wraps, but it's likely she enjoyed one handcrafted gift from the Princess of Wales for her big day.
During Kate Middleton's visit to Corgi, a handcrafted knitwear designer in Wales, she was given a basket of treats, including a buttery cashmere cardigan in Ecru and fluffy navy bed socks for the Princess that were designed especially for her visit. In honour of her milestone birthday on 31st January, a handwoven cashmere wrap in navy blue was also included for Carole. Upon receiving the gift, Kate said, âThatâs so sweet of you, thank you, I wasnât expecting it.â
Whilst it is unknown how Carole Middleton celebrated her 70th birthday, it was no doubt a family affair. After all, the Middletons are known to be extremely close and Carole is thought to have ârallied aroundâ the Princess following the news of her cancer battle. Perhaps Carole enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the family estate at Bucklebury Manor?

Regardless of how they celebrated, the Middletonâs certainly know a thing or two about throwing a party, earning their fortune from an event planning business called Party Pieces. Established in 1987, the family-run operation collapsed last year following major losses in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It's been a busy few weeks for the Princess as she continues her recovery from cancer, and takes further steps into the public eye after a year out of the spotlight. On 5th February, the Princess was admired for acting just like âone of the school mumsâ by staff at the National Portrait Gallery during a visit to celebrate the launch of a new childrenâs exhibition.
She hopped on a mini bus with a crew of five-year-olds to explore The Bobeam Tree Trail which was created in partnership with her Royal Foundation for Early Childhood. During the tour, she took a particular shine to a little girl named Grace, wandering around the gallery hand in hand.
