The Traitors: Leanne and Jake crowned as winners
Fans of The Traitors have taken to social media to share their upset that Alexander was banished by his fellow players in the tense final episode of the series.
Frankie, Jake, Leanne and Alexander were gathered around the fire pit and chose to banish one player, and Alexander was voted out. Viewers had been loving the 38 year old former diplomat in recent episodes of The Traitors, and he had become a firm fan favourite.
He missed out on the first few days of the game, gallantly offering to leave the train to the castle on the very first day when Claudia Winkleman requested one person from each carriage had to disembark. This left him, Fozia and Jack standing at the station, only to return later on in the game when friendships had already formed between the other players.

Jack was eliminated in a game involving the three newbies being dangled from trees in cages, and Fozia left the series after being selected by Traitors Linda and Minah to play the âDeath Matchâ card game. Alexander remained, but many of the Faithfuls were convinced he had entered the game as a Traitor, so they kept their distance, leading to scenes when poor Alexander was shown wandering the castle halls and sitting alone as everyone else departed the round table.
Viewers, who knew he was a Faithful, loved him, especially following a mission that had Alexander singing backwards nursery rhymes in operatic tones â a performance that led Claudia to tell the audience at home that âAlexander is single.â A sweet tumble into a flower bush during a game of badminton just made fans love him more.
Then, in the final episode, he gained more fans as he held Frankie's hand while dangling from a helicopter in the final mission, and comforted her when the stress of knowing that Charlotte was a Traitor got too much. Unfortunately, he fumbled during the last round table, and his fellow players decided that was enough to banish him.
Frankie was the last person to be banished, and she was a Faithful
As soon as Alexander was given his marching orders, fans flocked to X to complain. "Alexander I am sorry these people can't be trusted, I am contacting ofcom," wrote one. "I feel bad for Alexander," said a second, while a third commented: "They just didn't deserve Alexander." A fourth simply wrote: "Alexander noooooooo," and another fan added: "Alexander did not deserve this," followed by a lot of crying emojis.
Of course, there was another shock to come as fellow favourite Frankie was also banished before Leanne and Jake were declared the winners, splitting more than ÂŁ96,000 between them. Viewers were just as angry about her banishment, with one writing: "The only reason a traitor was even found was thanks to Frankie and she doesn't even win. GOODNIGHT." Another added: "They absolutely cheated Frankie out of that money. MOTHER," while one fan had a theory: "Leanne and Jake KNEW Frankie was a Faithful, but they got greedy. Nothing will convince me otherwise. Had arranged a two-way split."
