The latest series of the Traitors has now reached its final after several weeks of twists, drama and eliminations.

The third series of the BBC show launched three weeks ago and has now reached its conclusion. The final on Friday night, which will run for longer than typical episodes at 70 minutes, will see the prize fund won by at least one player.

Host Claudia Winkleman introduced viewers to more than 20 players in the launch episode but now just five remain. They include Faithfuls Alexander Dragonetti, Francesca Rowan-Plowden, Jake Brown and Leanne Quigley. They are up against Charlotte Berman, who's the only Traitor left.

The Faithfuls will need to banish Charlotte before the end of the game in order to win, but if she manages to be there at very end then she wins it all for herself. There will also be the introduction of a new twist in the final episode. So what happens in the final? And how much can the group win?

What happens in the final?

The final episode of the Traitors typically begins with a breakfast, which is followed by the last mission and round table. It then concludes with the finale ceremony around a firepit, where the winner(s) is announced after more voting.

This year's finale isn't expected to open with a breakfast though as Thursday's episode ended on a cliffhanger. Fans are waiting to see the fallout of Frankie discovering that Charlotte's a Traitor. She won the power to uncover one player's true identity through the Seer role in a mission.

The episode ended with Frankie making her choice and Charlotte arriving at the face-to-face meeting. Frankie's reaction to her co-star being on the opposing team and how that plays out in the game have yet to be shown.

The group are likely to take part in a final mission later in Friday's episode. The last mission of each series of the Traitors has previously involved outdoor activities in the Scottish Highlands and previous finalists have been offered the chance to add up to £20,000 to the prize fund in it.

A banishment is expected to take place at the round table as usual following the mission. This year things will be a little different due to a twist unveiled by Claudia previously. She revealed in the launch episode that any players banished in the final episode won't reveal whether they are a Traitor or a Faithful, differing from the format of the past two series.

Previously, anyone banished in the final episode immediately confirmed whether they were a Traitor or a Faithful. This potentially provided a clue to the remaining contestants as to how many of each team could still be in the game.

Claudia told the players at the first round table: "Winning the money is gonna require even more smarts than ever this year. Listen carefully." She then revealed: "Those who make it to the final will no longer reveal their true identities as they leave, instead, you will need to rely solely on your instincts as to whether any Traitors are left in the game."

Following the round table banishment, based on the past two series, the remaining players will take part in a firepit ceremony to determine who wins the prize fund. The rules and process are different to the usual banishments.

The Faithfuls have to decide whether they are confident that they have removed all Traitors, and if they are, they can end the game without banishing anyone else. Typically, all players must agree to end the game in order to do so.

Instead of ending the game, any players that suspect there are still Traitors left, or simply want to reduce the number of potential winners, can choose to take it to a vote to banish someone. Everyone will then vote someone out, but unlike in previous years, due to the new twist, they will not confirm whether they are a Faithful or a Traitor as they leave.

That process continues until everyone still standing agrees to end it or there are only two players remaining. When that happens, if there are just Faithfuls left, they win the prize fund. However, any Traitors remaining win instead.

What do they win?

Each series of the Traitors has promised the players the chance to win up to £120,000. The actual prize fund in both previous finals has been lower than that though, with them not managing to bank all potential prize money in missions.

The prize fund on the latest series currently stands at £73,000. It was confirmed by host Claudia towards the start of the tenth episode that it was at £58,500. The group have added £6,000 and £9,100 to it in missions since then.

There's likely to be an opportunity to increase the fund in the final episode. Finalists in both previous series have been given the chance to add £20,000 to the prize fund in the final mission, which suggests that whoever wins the third series of the Traitors could end up walking away with £93,000.

The third series of the Traitors concludes tonight on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8.30pm. It will be followed by companion show Uncloaked at 9.40pm.
