Is there any better job than to caddie for the world’s best golfers around Augusta National?
Well, there will be 90 of them at the 2025 Masters and they will be hoping their star teammate can win themselves a green jacket.

Scheffler and Scott have worked together for four yearsCredit: GettyYou will often see the caddies speaking to the players as they accompany them around the iconic course, discussing each shot on their round.
But how much do they get paid over the four-day major and what exactly is their role? talkSPORT.com has taken a look…
The average weekly wage of a PGA Tour caddie is reported to vary from $1,500 and $4,000 (£1,100-£3,000).
That sum of money is usually determined by how experienced the caddie is and who they are caddying for at the time.
READ MORE ON GOLFBrennan Little, a looper of over 25 years, told Golf Monthly in 2022: "I think $2,000 (£1,500) a week is pretty average, but everything is worked out between you and the player.
"After a few years, you'll get a raise. Or you'll get bonuses at the end of the year. It just varies by the player."
But being a caddie at The Masters is expensive as they have to cover all of their expenses depending on any individual agreements with their player.
ESPN analyst and former caddie Michael Collins explained in 2021: "Caddies get a regular weekly paycheck because they have to pay for all of their own expenses, airfare, hotel, rental car, food.

"So, they get a weekly paycheck from the player, and then you get a percentage of what the player wins if they make the cut."
As mentioned by Collins, on top of that wage, caddies also get a percentage of their players’ prize money at a tournament.

Caddies take a percentage of the golfer's winnings on top of their wageCredit: GettyThe general split is that they receive 10 percent of the prize money if their player wins The Masters, 7 percent for a top-10 finish and five percent for a finish elsewhere in the leaderboard.
The total prize pot for The Masters this year is $20million, the same as the last edition.
By winning the event last April, Scottie Scheffler claimed $3.6m of that prize, meaning his caddie, Ted Scott, took home his cut of $360,000.
In 2023, the prize was a little less, but winner Jon Rahm’s caddie Adam Hayes will have earned around $320,000 of the $3.24m total prize for those four days.
It means that the world’s best golfers and their caddies are multi-millionaires, with Scheffler’s bagman Scott reportedly earning over $4m in 2024.
Speaking after Scheffler won The Masters last year, Scott said: “Honestly, I’m just pinching myself. I don’t know how I get to do this.

Scott has made millions working with Scheffler“When I was 19 years old, a guy by the name of Ryan Smith told me, if you want to get better at something, find people who are better at you and spend time with them. That’s kind of been my motto in life.
“I’ve just been very fortunate that great people will take me on as their caddie as other parts of my life. I’ve worked for some incredible golfers.
“Scottie is just added to the list, and now it’s just incredible to be a part of it. I’m just very fortunate.”
A caddie's job is extremely important, even though it may seem that they just follow the golfers around passing them clubs.
They actually make a huge impact on their player, offering advice on clubs to use, distances to greens and shots to make.
On top of that, they will also advise swing techniques and use in-depth course information to help with certain decisions on each hole.
'Are you not entertained?' - Caddie makes hole-in-one at golf's most iconic par threeCaddies are in constant conversation with their player in between holes and shots during tournaments, sometimes offering some morale support and motivation too.
It usually means that the player works with someone they are close to outside of the game or have built a trusting relationship with.
Scheffler spoke glowingly about his caddie Scott after winning The Masters last year, saying: "I couldn’t do this without you. What a guy.

"I didn’t get off to the best start, but I had some key up-and-downs, and Teddy once again did a great job of keeping me in it.”
