"His [Kelce's] relationship with Mahomes, there's very few quarterbacks in the league that would tolerate, let alone empower a receiver to have such flexibility," Olsen noted. He described Kelce's style as a "three-step combination" of individual brilliance, quarterback trust, and coaching freedom.

Olsen also credited Chiefs head coach Andy Reid for fostering an environment that allows for such creativity.
"In the modern NFL, in the days of coaches that want to control and manipulate and have all factors accounted for with themselves, they've got Andy Reid," Olsen explained. "Who says, 'You know what? Do it. I don't only allow it; I empower you. I encourage you. Go freestyle. Go experiment.'"
This approach has allowed Mahomes and Kelce to become one of the most dominant duos in playoff history.
One of Kelce's greatest strengths is his ability to adjust mid-play, making him nearly impossible to defend. Even elite defenders, such as San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner, have admitted that preparing for Kelce is extremely difficult.
