This billionaire owns two of some of American's biggest sports teams but his fortune began from his law career
Being a lawyer puts you in one of the highest paying job roles in the world, and depending on the specalisation, lawyers can really make a fortune during their career.
There are many wealthy lawyers across the globe, including human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, who is a practicing barrister at Dought Street Chambers and the wife of George Clooney
She's represented a number of high-profile clients including former Maldivian president Mohamed Nasheed, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Filipino-American journalist Maria Ressa.
As a result of her work, according to celebritynetworth.com, her net worth is around $50 million (£41 million).
However, the world's richest lawyer is said to be worth over triple the number of the renowned lawyer and activist's net worth.
American sports executive and businessman, Jerry Reinsdorf, has been named as the richest lawyer in the world with an estimated net worth of $2 billion, which is equivalent to around £1.6 billion, reports, South China Morning Post's Style magazine
He is currently the owner of the National Basketball Association (NBA)'s Chicago Bulls and Major League Baseball (MLB)'s Chicago White Sox. While he's been the owner of the two sports teams for nearly 40 years, that wasn't the beginning of his fortune.
The billionaire started his professional life, after graduating from Northwestern in 1960. He worked as a tax attorney with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the United States federal government's revenue service, where his first case concerned the tax delinquency of Bill Veeck, who owned White Sox at the time.
Four years later, Jerry Reinsdorf, went into private practice and became a specialist in the real estate partnership tax shelters. Before he sold his business interests in real estate partnerships in 1973 and co-founded a real estate investment firm called Balcor.
The company raised $650 million (equivalent to £548 million today) to invest in buildings under construction and nine years later he sold the company for $102 million (around £101 million today) but remained President of the company for a few years afterwards.
After making so much money in various sectors, he was able to purchase White Sox, in 1981 and in 1985, he purchased the Chicago Bulls, which continues to contribute to the signifcant wealth he's generated throughout his life.

On January 18, the popular variety show aired a sneak peek of its upcoming Lunar New Year special, which will feature three celebrity family duos as guests. KISS OF LIFE’s Belle and STAYC’s Sieun will appear together with their respective fathers Shim Sin and Park Nam Jung, both of whom are legendary singers in Korea. Sisters BIBI and tripleS’s NaKyoung will also be guesting on the show together.
In the newly released preview, Sieun dances with Park Nam Jung to his iconic hit “Dreaming of You,” which is famous for its choreography. Meanwhile, Shim Sin sings KISS OF LIFE’s hit song “Sticky” together in a special duet with Belle.
After BIBI enviously says she wishes she were Park Nam Jung’s or Shim Sin’s daughter, she remarks that she and sister NaKyoung didn’t fight much while they were growing up. However, NaKyoung swiftly begs to differ, insisting they fought a lot. Later, the two siblings playfully sing Block B’s “Nillili Mambo” together.
The guests and “Knowing Bros” cast members then don hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) to play a guessing game together. When Sieun argues with her dad over a story about an amusement park trip, Lee Sang Min—who doesn’t have children of his own—woefully shares, “I want to argue with my daughter too.”
Finally, the preview ends with a brief glimpse of Sieun and Park Nam Jung performing “A Whole New World” from the “Aladdin” soundtrack together.
