This Morning: Laura Puddy reveals she dated a toyboy
This Morning host Cat Deeley was left speechless after a fellow ITV star shared her very own Bridget Jones-type story. The eagerly anticipated follow-up movie, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, will see Renee Zellweger return as the much-loved character, now navigating life as a widow and entering the dating scene with a younger man.
On Thursday's show, Cat and co-host Ben Shephard were joined by fashion guru Laura Puddy to talk about top shapewear options, in honour of the 24 years since Bridget first flashed her iconic big knickers on our screens. Seizing the moment, Laura revealed some personal goss about her dating escapades, admitting: "As a single gal in her 40s, I have had a dabble with a younger man."
Cat couldn't hide her shock, responding with an enthusiastic high-five while Laura confided: "So, I can relate to Bridget on this one."

The conversation took a juicy turn when Ben enquired: "How much younger was he? " to which Laura disclosed: "He was 17 years younger. He was 23 and I'm 40."
This revelation had Cat cheering: "Yes. Laura Puddy," reports Wales Online. With everyone itching for more juicy details, Ben chimed in: "I feel like we're being distracted but I want to find out more." Prompting laughter as Laura teased: "In the next show I'll tell you everything."

Cat then steered the chat back to the silver screen, questioning: "What about dating apps because she uses those as well?"
Laura shared her insights: "I do think, when you get into your 40s and you've been single for a while your friends really encourage you to get back into the dating scene and this happens in the film too and obviously she dabbles in the apps."
She disclosed with a chuckle that the character has had more luck than herself, adding: "Now she has had more success than me but it is really fun and everything you want from a Bridget Jones film."
Switching gears, she noted: "There is a lot of references to the original film and with my fashion head on, there is obviously the big pants and we are going to talk about big pants later. So I love that and I just have to say, it's a feel good film and my cheeks were hurting so much from smiling."
This Morning is on ITV1 weekdays at 10am and ITVX
