This Morning's Craig Doyle has shared his shocking experience with Storm Eowyn, revealing that his balcony 'exploded' due to the severe weather. On Friday's (January 24) episode of the ITV morning show, Craig reported live from Wicklow National Park in Ireland, sharing the havoc caused by the storm.

"It's pretty bad, actually. At 5 o'clock this morning it hit so hard, I've never heard winds like it," he told hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond. "About an hour ago there was a big explosion, and basically the wind came through and just ripped apart our balcony and all the glass smashed out of it," Craig continued, leaving Alison shocked.

"I know, it's crazy right?" Craig added. "That's been there a long time, big wooden struts and it just ripped it all apart, glass flying everywhere, a huge smash. That's scary winds, to do damage like that is really scary."

The presenter explained that while Ireland is accustomed to extreme weather, the fear factor with this storm has been "unbelievable". He also revealed that he's had to join a waiting list for gas. "It could take a week to fix all this stuff because of the amount of damage, so it does feel different. It feels a little scarier," Craig admitted, reports the Mirror.

"I was really shocked, actually, when the balcony kind of exploded with the wind this morning. This house is built on a mountain and we built it to withstand heavy winds, but we haven't experienced anything like this before. I'm a bit nervy being out here."

Dermot revealed that his parents, who live in Wexford in Ireland, are charging their electrical devices, including their hearing aids, in anticipation of potential power cuts due to the storm. The storm hit the British Isles earlier today, with red weather warnings issued for Northern Ireland and central Scotland.

A record-breaking wind speed of 114mph was recorded in Ireland, and the turbulent conditions are expected to cause chaos across the country. Millions have been advised to stay indoors and avoid travelling during the storm, leading to numerous school closures and train suspensions in certain areas.
