The first race I ever ran was a half marathon. It started as a one-time family activity with my cousins, but I never stopped. Running is my reset button. It clears my head. Since that first half, I ran the Manchester City Marathon and countless 5Ks and 10Ks. The Manchester City Marathon was a tough course, but I gave it my all. I never thought I would enjoy running, and now I canât imagine my life without it.

When I prepare for races, I put the same effort into nutrition and training as I do in my work. This is why Iâm so excited to run this yearâs Boston Marathon for The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB). At Carlson Orchards, Iâve helped supply food to GBFB, which also prioritizes nutrition and access. By supporting GBFB in the Boston Marathon, Iâm supporting families who struggle to put food on the table.
Everyone should be able to properly fuel themselves to support their goals, whether it be running, farming, anything. I canât wait to run for GBFB this April!
