Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd Want to Ruin Each Other's Lives in 'Friendship' Trailer
A24 has released the first trailer for 'Friendship,' starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd.
Just Being Guys
The A24 film will hit theaters in May after playing at SXSW
Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd are uncertain BFFs in the trailer for Friendship. The A24 film, written and directed by Andrew DeYoung, will play at SXSW in March before arriving in theaters in May.
In the clip, Robinson plays an average guy named Craig, who is encouraged by his wife (Kate Mara) to hang out with his new neighbor (Rudd) and a group of guys. The pair quickly become mates, with a montage of the two hanging out in bars and driving around together. âI can see the future,â Craig says in a voiceover. âItâs full of pals. Iâm on the edge of life, and the view is gorgeous.â Soon, though, Ruddâs character tells Craig they should âgo their separate ways,â leading to some signature Robinsonâs antics.
A synopsis for the film notes, âSuburban dad Craig falls hard for his charismatic new neighbor, as Craigâs attempts to make an adult male friend threaten to ruin both of their lives.â A press release adds, âWriter-director Andrew DeYoung takes Tim Robinsonâs signature cringe to the big screen in a laugh-until-you-cry nightmare comedy about male bonding gone wrong.â
Friendship also stars Jack Dylan Grazer, Josh Segarra, and Billy Bryk. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last fall, where it was acquired by A24. An exact theatrical release date has yet to be announced.
