Timothy Olyphant Joins Anya Taylor-Joy Apple Series ‘Lucky’
Timothy Olyphant is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series "Lucky."
Timothy Olyphant is the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series “Lucky.”
Variety has learned that Olyphant has joined the series alongside previously announced lead Anya Taylor-Joy as well as recently announced cast member Annette Bening.
“Lucky” is based on the novel of the same name by Marissa Stapley. The book was a New York Times bestseller and a selection for Reese Witherspoon’s Reese’s Book Club. Per the official description, Taylor-Joy stars as “a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past.”

This marks the second Apple series in which Olyphant will appear. Variety exclusively reported that he will star in an upcoming golf comedy series at the streamer alongside Owen Wilson.
Olyphant recently reprised the role of US Marshall Raylan Givens in the FX series “Justified: City Primeval,” which served as a followup to “Justified,” on which Olyphant played Givens for six seasons. He earned an Emmy nomination for best actor in a drama for the original show. Olyphant is also known for starring in the HBO Western drama “Deadwood,” which was also revived in 2019 with a followup movie. Olyphant also picked up an Emmy nod in 2021 for his guest role on “The Mandalorian” as Cobb Vanth, a role he later reprised in “The Book of Boba Fett.” His other TV credits include “Santa Clarita Diet,” “Full Circle” and “Daisy Jones & The Six,” while his film credits include “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “Amsterdam.” He is also set to appear in Noah Hawley’s “Alien: Earth” series at FX.

Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas are adapting “Lucky” for the screen and will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Tropper executive produces under his overall deal with Apple via Tropper Ink. Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce for Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media. Taylor-Joy executive produces under her Ladykiller Films banner. Jonathan Van Tulleken will direct several episodes, including the pilot, and serve as executive producer. Apple Studios will produce.
