He is also set to join the Alien franchise as the synthetic Kirsh in Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth series, which is set to debut on FX and Hulu later this year.

Meanwhile, Taylor-Joy, who first rose to prominence as the lead in Robert Eggers’ 2015 horror movie The Witch, already has another Apple TV+ project lined up for release in a matter of weeks. Helmed by Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, Taylor-Joy is set to star in The Gorge alongside Miles Teller and Sigourney Weaver. A science fiction movie in which two elite snipers are assigned to protect each side of an impenetrable gorge, the actor’s next movie is scheduled to debut on Apple TV+ on February 14.

While Olyphant is perhaps best known for playing such lawmen as Justified’s Raylan Givens and Deadwood’s Seth Bullock, his career has also seen him on the other side of the law more than once. Having already played serial killers, assassins and cyber-terrorists, the idea of Olyphant stepping into the role of a professional grifter and con artist seems like a natural fit. With his proven charisma and undeniable charm, Olyphant is an exciting pick to play Taylor-Joy’s criminal father in Lucky.
