Tom Hardy slams presenter for 'terrible' comment in toe-curling interview
Tom Hardy was left fuming during a recent radio interview after a presenter mad a very snakey remark towards a place which holds a special place in the Venom star's heart
Tom Hardy was left enraged as he hit out at a radio presenter during a very awkward interview. The venom actor has recently been filming in Wales for a new Netflix film, Havoc, and it appears that one location in Wales is very special to Tom as he instantly leapt to its defence.
Tom, 47, recently appeared on Radio X's The Chris Moyles Show and was interviewed by co-host Dominic Byrne but despite Tom explaining he was a fan of the programme, things soon took a very awkward turn. During the interview, Byrne acknowledged that people had recently spotted Tom filming on Barry Island â the home of Gavin & Stacey.
â
"Apparently you were on the ghost train, is that true?" Byrne asked, with Tom replying: "I don't know." Dominic later added: "Ok, because I've been on ghost train and it's one of the scariest."

Instantly recalling the moment, Tom said: "Hang on a minute, it's brought it back to me. It's brought it back to me. It goes around in a loop and comes back out on the left? Yes, I've been on that." Dominic's encounter appeared to be very different to Tom's though.
He quipped "And the guy running the ride is actually scarier than the ride itself." This, is where things took an awkward turn as Tom said: "I wouldn't say that." After a brief moment of silence, Dominic responded: "Right."

"You can't say that," said Tom, before adding: "Because he might be listening, and that's just a terrible thing to say about Barry Island, isn't it, when you think about it? I feel I should defend him immediately.
"That's wrong. I had a great time on Barry Island." Dominic scrambled to turn the interview around, saying: "I went with my family, and there's also the two penny machines. You know, the slidey machines? They are incredible. They're not healthy, okay? So, in moderation. But they are good fun."

However, things became even more awkward when Dominic questioned whether Tom had "weened himself off" the arcade games, with the actor responding: "I don't talk about that, no, it's none of your business." Just seconds after Dominic apologised for "prying", Tom said: "Then don't."
It was recently revealed that while filming the action thriller movie, Tom instantly took a liking to Barry Island, which has been the home to some of TV's best moments and love stories. "I didn't have much downtime when we were filming - but Tom enjoyed Barry Island," director Gareth Evans told the Mirror.

Evans added: "He loved Barry Island - he went once or twice. He was a Barry Island fan. It was lovely and it was fun to see this cast of actors turning up, legends like Forest Whittaker - who would go off and discover the Welsh coastlines.
"There's an amazing selfie of him standing with this beautiful coastline in the background. It was just nice for us to be able to share stories about work and experiences, but then for me to share a little bit of the Welsh culture and Welsh landscape with them as well."
