British star Stephen Graham continues to fly high with the actor next appearing in the tense crime thriller Adolescence.
Starring Top Boy’s Ashley Walters and The Crown actress Erin Doherty, the four-part limited series follows a couple ripped apart after their teenage son is arrested for the murder of a fellow schoolgirl.
Graham, 51, plays father Eddie Miller who serves as the ‘appropriate adult’ when his son is taken in by the police for questioning.
Doherty, 32, portrays Briony Ariston, the clinical psychologist assigned to Jamie’s case, while Walters, 42, is Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe.
Actor Owen Cooper takes on the schoolboy under suspicion, Jamie Miller, in the star’s first big role.

Bodies
Time travelling epic Bodies, based on the graphic novel by Si Spencer, saw Graham take on several roles as the enigmatic figure of Mannix.
Spanning four different time periods, a quartet of detectives attempted to solve the same murder after a corpse simultaneously turned up in several different eras.
The gripping drama saw Graham portraying a Victorian gentleman and a futuristic leader with other cast members including Shira Haas, Poldark’s Kyle Soller and Greta Scacchi.

True crime drama The Walk-In followed Graham playing real-life Hope Not Hate activist Matthew Collins, who infiltrated a British Neo-Nazi group in a bid to foil the assassination of Labour MP Rosie Cooper.
The tense five-part drama originally aired on ITV back in 2022 and garnered five stars reviews.
The Walk-In also starred Game of Thrones actor Dean-Charles Chapman, Leanne Best from Line of Duty, Jason Flemyng from The Missing, Chris Coghill, Brendan O’Carroll and Dean Lennox Kelly.
Taboo
Tom Hardy and Steven Knight’s gritty historical drama Taboo will be making a comeback for a second outing with the first series airing back in 2017.
Taboo concentrated on Hardy’s mysterious James Delaney, who returned to England after 12 years in Africa as he set about claiming his father’s estate.
Graham portrayed Atticus, an underworld informant to Delaney in Taboo, which dealt with political and business corruption within the East India Company.
The series also starred Jessie Buckley, Oona Chaplin, Leo Bill, American actor Michael Kelly, David Hayman and Jefferson Hall.

Graham also had a part in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated Hollywood movie Gangs of New York, starring opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and Daniel Day-Lewis.
Gangs of New York is set in 1863 with tensions erupting into violence between the Catholics and Protestants in the city and sees Graham star as Shang.
The 2002 blockbuster was an epic historical piece charting New York’s early underworld gangs with Scorsese’s movie decades in the making.

Graham starred as white Jamaican gangster Rico Grimes in Idris Elba’s directorial debut Yardie, a crime drama based on the novel of the same name by Victor Headley.
The 2018 movie was set in 1970s Kingston, Jamaica and followed Dennis ‘D’ Campbell (Aml Ameen), who was haunted by the death of his brother.
The action moved to Hackney, London as D was entrusted with delivering drugs to Rico and building a new life for himself in the UK, while pursuing his childhood love Yvonne (Shantol Jackson).
Other cast members included Fraser James, Sheldon Shepherd and Everaldo Creary.

British espionage thriller Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy saw Graham assume the mantle of former cricketer-turned-sports journalist and sometimes spy Jerry Westerby.
The John le Carré adaptation boasts a star-studded cast including Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Ciarán Hinds, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Hurt and Tony Jones.
Peaky Blinders
Steven Knight’s Birmingham mafia epic led by Cillian Murphy is often cited as one of the best shows on television, charting the rags to riches tale of the Shelby family.
With guest antagonists each season, including Sam Neill, Adrien Brody, Tom Hardy and Aidan Gillen, Peaky Blinders simply got bigger over the years.
Fans were elated when Graham eventually appeared opposite Murphy as trade unionist Hayden Stagg after questions about whether he might feature as American gangster Al Capone after his turn in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.
A Peaky Blinders movie titled The Immortal Man, and set a few years before the series finale, started filming in September 2024 and will be landing on Netflix when it’s completed.
