Trafalgar Square Christmas tree mocked as it arrives from Norway
Tree will need a few days to unfurl after long journey - but that hasn’t stopped some poking fun online
Londoners have mocked the Trafalgar Square Christmas tree as it was installed in place in central London on Monday.Officials have said the spruce needs time to unfurl after being transported hundreds of miles from Norway’s Nordmarka Forest last week before appearing at its full “majestic” height of 66ft.

Additionally, “APT.” topped both Billboard’s Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts for the sixth week in a row, extending its own record as the K-pop song with the second most weeks at No. 1 on the Global 200 (bested only by BTS’s Jungkook’s “Seven” featuring Latto, which topped the chart for seven weeks in 2023).
Rosé’s new single “number one girl” also made a strong debut on both global charts: the song entered the Global Excl. U.S. chart at No. 11 and the Global 200 at No. 29.
Meanwhile, “APT.” ranked No. 22 in its sixth consecutive week on Billboard’s Hot 100, in addition to returning to its peak of No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart—meaning it was once again the second best-selling song of the week in the United States. The song also stayed strong at No. 20 in its sixth week on the Streaming Songs chart.
Finally, Rosé jumped 43 ranks on Billboard’s Artist 100 this week, taking No. 48 in her seventh overall week on the chart as a soloist.
