And he is done suggesting the idea.
He has dug his feet into the ground and proclaimed that is what he will be doing, and if the team that drafts him when the process gets underway in Green Bay on Thursday doesn't let him, then he has a message for them.
He's out.
The Heisman Trophy winner would rather stop playing altogether if he could only play one position.

"It's never playing football again," Hunter told CBS Sports last week.
"Because I've been doing it my whole life, and I love being on the football field. I feel like I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it.
"I just feel very confident in myself, and I got a competitive spirit that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and I feel like I can do it."
He credited his head coach at Colorado, Deion Sanders, for instilling in him the confidence to do both.

And be great at both.
It also hasn't hurt Hunter that he got to learn from who many consider to be the greatest defensive back of all-time, and also lined up on offense occasionally.

"It's been a blessing learning from the best to play that position, and you want to be better than him, so it's good to be in that position," Hunter said.
"Just him telling me to just be where my feet are and take every moment and enjoy it, knowing you only get to do it one time"
Hunter has made it clear he expects to play both wide receiver and cornerback in the National Football League.
And the reports have been that none of the teams that have met with Hunter so far have told him that he wouldn't be able to.
The Tennessee Titans have the first overall pick, followed by the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.
Hunter is projected to go somewhere among the top three.
That wasn't the only bit of recent news surrounding Hunter.
Colorado announced earlier this week that they are retiring his No. 12 jersey, along with teammate Shedeur Sanders' No. 2.
No player in Boulder will ever wear those numbers again.
That announcement was met with mixed reaction, as some claimed, while deserving, that it was too soon for Hunter's number to be retired.
And most were left befuddled by the announcement of Sanders' number being retired.
Regardless, it is a special honor for two special players.

An honor that not even Patrick Mahomes received after his playing days at Texas Tech.
With that being said, it's nearly impossible to walk around the campus in Lubbock, Texas and not see the impact Mahomes has had on not only the football program and athletic department, but the university as a whole.
He is a member of their Hall of Fame and has his No. 5 hung up in the Red Raiders home stadium.
Only difference is, the No. 5 is still up for grabs and worn by current players.
