Travis Kelce Says Working With Adam Sandler on ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Was a ‘Dream Come True’
Travis Kelce discussed how exciting it was to work with comedy legend Adam Sandler on Netflix's "Happy Gilmore 2"
On a recent episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” Travis Kelce discussed how exciting it was to work with comedy legend Adam Sandler.
Kelce will appear alongside Sandler in Netflix‘s “Happy Gilmore 2,” which is set for a 2025 release. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is cast in a currently undisclosed role, but in a recently released teaser, he appears to play some sort of country club employee.
“That was a dream come true,” Kelce said, “I thought ‘SNL’ was going to be the peak of my acting and showman or entertainment career. Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain.”

While he is by no means top-billed, Kelce said he has “a few” scenes in the film, and that shooting for “Happy Gilmore 2” was “a hefty load” of work.
“They’re so professional and yet so fun to work with,” Kelce added. “I felt like I was working with like the [Kansas City Cheifs’ coach] Andy Reid of the acting world. [Adam Sandler] is every bit as cool off the screen as he is on the screen. That was a dream come true. That was awesome.”
Outside of Kelce and Sandler, “Happy Gilmore 2” stars Ben Stiller, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Jacqueline Sophia London, Benny Safdie and Nick Swardson.
While plot details for the sequel remain under wraps, the original “Happy Gilmore” followed a hot-headed hockey player who turns to the world of professional golf to save his grandmother’s home from foreclosure. The 1996 film was directed by Dennis Dugan and grossed $41 million at the global box office against a $12 million budget.
