Troye Sivan Slid Into Doechii's DMs to Manifest a Collaboration
Troye Sivan sent Doechii DMs in the hopes of manifesting a collaboration with the rapper, Sivan said on the 2025 Grammys red carpet.
Troye Sivan is manifesting his dream collaborations, one DM at a time.
During the E! Live from the Red Carpet preshow at the 2025 Grammy Awards, the "Angel Baby" singer spoke about how sending "fanmail" could be how he works with other talented artists.
"One thing that I started doing this year is I started sending like fanmail to people. Like yeah, I 100 percent slid into Doechii's DMs," Sivan, 29, said of the best new artist nominee.

Zuri Hall, reporting from the red carpet, asked about any results from said fanmail. "Do we need to make that connection happen tonight? Have you two met in person yet, or is this the moment?"
Sivan lamented that nothing had happened — yet.
"I don't think we've ever met in person. We were on the same label. I feel like we have orbited each other. We follow each other on Instagram," Sivan explained. "Obviously, I'm excited to see her."
This year, Sivan was nominated for the best pop dance recording for his song "Get Me Started," but he lost to Charli xcx's "Von Dutch." He was previously nominated for best music video and best pop dance recording in 2024 for his song "Rush."
In addition to best new artist, Doechii was also nominated for best rap performance and best rap album. She is also slated to perform during the ceremony.

Sivan celebrated his Grammy nomination with a clip from the "Get Me Started" music video. "best pop dance recording - got me started ???????? my voice hurts from screaming @recordingacademy," he captioned the Instagram Reel.
While on the Grammys red carpet, Sivan also told PEOPLE about his Sweat tour with Charli xcx, saying he "had the best time of my life" despite not being sure if he was going to love it.
Working with Charli, 32, "feels like the most magical time in my life." As for why it was so magical, Sivan said he felt "really self-actualized," Sivan said. "I'm very, very proud of what we did, what we achieved creatively. I'm very happy that I got to do it with one of my best friends."
