Van driver injured after tree falls on vehicle during Storm Ãowyn
A van driver has been injured after a tree collided with the roof of his vehicle in Glasgow as Storm �owyn batters Scotland.

A van driver has been injured after a tree collided with the roof of his vehicle in Glasgow as Storm Ãowyn batters Scotland.
The man, who was driving a City Building van, was treated by paramedics after the accident at around 9am on Balmore Road near Lambhill Cemetery.
A spokesperson for City Building said he remains in hospital.
It is understood he had been travelling while working during as the city was gripped by adverse weather.
The tree toppled on to the roof of the white van on the road tearing through the top of the vehicle.
City Building are partly owned by Glasgow City Council.
They have asked customers to "request assistance only in genuine life and limb emergency situations" and have suspended all other repairs until the weather improves.
A City Building spokesperson said: "We can confirm a staff member was injured while responding to an emergency callout earlier this morning (24 January).
"Our colleague is currently being treated in hospital. Our team remains in contact with him and is providing any support required.
"We continue to ask for the support of our customers to consider current conditions and to request assistance only in genuine life and limb emergency situations.
âAll other repairs have been suspended until the weather situation improves. We would like to thank our customers for their patience during this very challenging time."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.05am on Friday, 24 January, 2025. we were called to Balmore Road, Glasgow following a report that a tree had fallen on a van.
"The driver was treated by ambulance staff and the vehicle was recovered."
A red weather warning for wind is in place across Glasgow until 5pm today.
Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
