âFirst and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are OK,â said Jackson in a statement obtained by the publication. âMy daughter, my family, my neighbours all made it out safely. Sadly, my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.â
Jackson had a deep attachment to the $2 million home. He lived there until the age of eight, when his parents divorced and he moved with his mom and siblings to Vancouver.
When Jacksonâs career took off after his role in Dawsonâs Creek, he bought the home and has lived there ever since.
Vancouver-born actress Cobie Smulders, who went to Lord Byng Secondary School in Point Grey, also lost her home in the fires.
Other Hollywood stars who have lost houses include Mel Gibson, Jeff Bridges, Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Anthony Hopkins, Paris Hilton, Eugene Levy, Miles Teller, Candy Spelling, James Woods and Tina Knowles.
