Vin Diesel Says Next Fast & Furious Movie Will 'Finally Return Home' to Film in Los Angeles After Devastating Wildfires
Vin Diesel announced on Jan. 23 that he intends on filming "the rest of Fast X Part 2" in Los Angeles to help the city recover from the series of devastating wildfires that have displaces tens of thousands in recent weeks. "Fast will finally return home," he wrote.

Vin Diesel wants to bring the next Fast movie back to Los Angeles.
On Thursday, Jan. 23, Diesel, 57, shared a photo of himself and Fast and Furious franchise costar Jordana Brewster embracing on Instagram as he wrote that Brewster, 44, recently asked him to ensure that remaining production on Fast X: Part 2 take place in Los Angeles to help the city recover from a series of devastating wildfires in recent weeks.
"Last week, during the fires that displaced LA⊠my sister Jordana reached out to me and said⊠Please have Universal film the rest of Fast X Part 2 in LA," Diesel wrote in a caption to his post. "Los Angeles needs it now more than ever⊠Los Angeles is where Fast and Furious started filming 25 years ago⊠and now Fast will finally return home. All loveâŠ"
Brewster herself responded to Diesel's pledge in a comment on his post, in which she wrote, "Our home â„ïž,"

Fast X: Part 2 will serve as the sequel to 2023's Fast X; the next film is also widely rumored to function as the franchise's final entry, more than 20 years after 2001's original The Fast and the Furious. Diesel and Brewster portray sibling duo Dom Toretto and Mia Toretto across the series. Diesel himself has referred to the upcoming movie as a "finale" since at least February 2024, when he teased fans about progress on the sequel after attending a production meeting.
"This grand finale is not just an ending; itâs a celebration of the incredible family weâve built together," he wrote on Instagram at that time.

Despite Diesel and Brewster's plans to ensure Fast X: Part 2 films in Los Angeles, some residents of the city's Angelino Heights neighborhood â where the character Dom Toretto owns Bob's Market and lives in the films â previously threatened to protest filming for Fast X in 2022 in the area over complaints that the Fast and Furious movies have inspired dangerous street racing in the neighborhood.
Diesel previously spoke out about the ongoing wildfires in L.A. in an Instagram post he shared on Sunday, Jan. 19. He likened the various ways celebrities are helping the thousands of people displaced by fires to how Sylvester Stallone helped Diesel "organize a fundraiser for the firefighters in those dark days after" terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
