WATCH: Eagles' Jalen Hurts Thanks God After Super Bowl Victory: 'Greater Than All The Highs And The Lows'
The Philadelphia Eagles silenced the doubters and shattered the Kansas City Chiefs' dreams of a three-peat with a dominant 40-22 win in Super Bowl LIX.
The Philadelphia Eagles silenced the doubters and shattered the Kansas City Chiefsâ dreams of a three-peat with a dominant 40-22 win in Super Bowl LIX. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, now a Super Bowl champion, wasted no time giving credit where he believes itâs due, thanking God for guiding him through the highs and lows of his journey.
Speaking to FOX Sportsâ Erin Andrews after the game, Hurts reflected on his path to the pinnacle of the NFL, delivering a message of faith and perseverance.
âYou know, God is good. Heâs greater than all the highs and the lows,â Hurts said. âI think personally myself, Iâve just been able to use every experience and learn from it. The good, the bad, all of it. Using it as fuel to pursue my own greatness.â
Hurts, who has faced criticism and challenges throughout his careerâincluding being benched in college and coming up short in Super Bowl LVIIâcredited his faith and his teammates for helping him push through.
âI think I couldnât do any of these things without the guys around me,â Hurts continued. âWe had a special group this year.â

The Eaglesâ road to redemption was paved with defensive dominance, shutting down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefsâ offense in critical moments. With new additions bolstering the team, Hurts and Philadelphia overcame last seasonâs heartbreak and hoisted the Lombardi Trophy.
âWeâre able to learn from the past and get some nice new pieces and get over that hump,â Hurts added.
The loss denied the Chiefs what would have been an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat. Instead, it was the Eaglesâ night and one that Hurts made sure to frame as part of a bigger plan.
Hurts has often spoken about keeping God at the center of his life, attributing his wisdom and guidance to his faith. He has cited John 13:7 as a favorite Bible verse: âJesus replied, âYou do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.'â This scripture has been a source of inspiration for him, especially during challenging times in his career.
âItâs been a very unprecedented journey. The journey, itâs always the beginning until itâs the end, and I think, it means a lot,â Hurts said post-game.
âThe offense was able to score points and take advantage of opportunities, just enough to put points on the board, and the defense, the defense played their ass off,â he continued. âThey played how they played all year. I truly believe offense wins games and defense wins championships.â
âThings come right on time. The last time around, it wasnât our time, it wasnât my time,â Hurts added. âSometimes, you have to accept that you have to wait your turn.â
âAs great as the performance was, it wasnât enough to win. Going through those emotions and processing those things, that experience, lit a great flame in me and enhanced my desire to win.â
For Philadelphia, the victory marks the franchiseâs second Super Bowl title in six years. For Jalen Hurts, itâs a testament to his resilience, faith, and refusal to be defined by past failures.
