Storm Eowyn caused widespread disruption across the UK with winds of over 100mph and authorities warning of “risk to life” conditions.
Half a million properties have already lost power and many schools, courts, museums, and parks have been closed as people were urged to stay indoors.
GMB viewers watched through their fingers today as presenter Kate Garraway urged Nick to stay safe, after rare red weather warnings were issued for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Concerned Kate reminded Nick of the risks and asked: "Are you OK?
"Goodness me, you are feeling the impact, aren't you?"
Stumbling in shot, Nick managed to reply: "The winds have intensified in the last 45 minutes and are 75mph, with hours to go before the red weather warning."
Viewers expressed their outrage over ITV’s decision to have the reporter braving such perilous conditions.
One criticised the segment on X, writing: “How stupid to film Nick Dixon struggling to keep safe in the storms in Scotland. It’s not necessary for him to report outside in those conditions.”
