Wendy’s roasts Katy Perry, asks to send her back to space
Wendy’s seemed to suggest that Blue Origin got its order wrong when it delivered Katy Perry back to Earth on Monday.

The Wendy’s fast food chain seemed to suggest that Blue Origin got its order wrong when it delivered Katy Perry back to Earth on Monday.
Perry, along with a team of all-female celebrities including TV personality Gayle King, were launched into suborbital space for an 11-minute flight that ended safely in Texas.
While the women had quite the adventure, not everyone was happy to see them come back down — Perry in particular.
“Can we send her back?” Wendy’s X account tweeted in response to a headline regarding Perry’s return.
Wendy’s didn’t reply to a request for comment, though the tweet was largely seen as a dig at the “Artificial” singer. The people who manage Wendy’s social media weren’t alone in that sentiment.
Singer Kesha responded with a photo of herself smiling and sipping from a Wendy’s cup. Model Emily Ratajkowski called the celebrity space mission a “parody,” slamming those involved for “going up in a spaceship that was built and paid for by a company that’s single-handedly destroying the planet.” Actor Olivia Munn earlier called the exhibition “gluttonous.”
Blue Origin is owned by billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose fiancée Lauren Sanchez was also onboard Monday’s flight. She and her crew responded to criticism by saying the mission was “a big deal” for Blue Origin workers who made the trip possible.
“This is all for the benefit of Earth,” Perry said Monday. “I wanted to model courage and worthiness and fearlessness.”
Perry also used the flight to help promote her new tour, according to the Daily Beast. She held up a setlist that was reportedly unreadable while the rocket was in flight, but fans later figured out what it was.
