Thomas’s career took off in the late 1990s when he teamed up with Harvey Mason Jr. to form the production duo The Underdogs. The partnership became one of the most sought-after production teams in the industry, known for crafting smooth R&B and pop tracks. Their early success came with hits like Tyrese’s “I Like Them Girls” and songs for artists like Chris Brown, Lionel Richie, and Pink.

One of The Underdogs’ most notable contributions was their work on the Dreamgirls soundtrack, which earned them widespread acclaim.
