Learn all about Hallmark's new movie, "An Unexpected Valentine," including where it was filmed and the cast involved.
Hallmark’s newest movie, “An Unexpected Valentine,” premieres on Saturday, February 1 at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. The movie stars Lacey Chabert and Robert Buckley. Read on to learn all about where the movie was filmed and the cast involved.
Although the movie takes place in New York City, and there may be footage from the Big Apple, most of the production and filming for “An Unexpected Valentine” was in Canada. Buckley revealed this during an interview with Deck the Hallmark.
While talking about what a big deal it was to work with Chabert, he also quickly shared where the movie was filmed (while throwing in a touch of his own humor.)
“When they said Lacey Chabert, I threw my elbows up, I was just like ‘this is so great!’ and ‘I’ve made the big leagues! I’ve made the big leagues!'” he said. “So I opened up my trunk of wigs and I pulled out my best wigs and I flew up to Canada and I gave them 15 days of my best.”

In an interview with Swooon, Chabert said she was always a big fan of Buckley and was glad to have a chance to work with him.
“It was my first time working with Roberty Buckley. He was wonderful. I was a big fan of his before this came along and I was thrilled that we had the chance to work together. You know, we both have families and we’re talking about our kids. I don’t think people understand that when you’re doing this movie, these movies are 15 days. It’s a really intense experience. It’s long hours. It’s go go go go go, so you become very close with the people you’re working with… It’s almost like this camp experience.”
Chabert also talked about how smart Buckley was and easy to work with.
“I’ve actually never worked with someone who knew his lines as well as he does,” she shared. “I think he was Word Perfect on every single line. It was kind of annoying. He’s really brilliant and the whole cast was fantastic.”
