BILLS - RAVENS Matchup Preview
The Bills are known for their stingy defense and a sparkling 9-0 home record this season. Buffalo has won the AFC East for five consecutive years, but have fallen short in the playoffs as they havenât made it past the Divisional Round since 2020.
Back in Week 4, the Bills were trounced by the Ravens 35-10 in their only meeting this season. Baltimore rattled Allen in that game as he was sacked a season-high three times.
Allen was swift and precise in his performance against the Broncos, finishing 20 of 26 for 272 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 46 yards on the ground.
He threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns with six interceptions in the regular season. His 77.3 QBR was the second-highest in the NFL. Allen also gashed defenses with 531 rushing yards and 12 scores.
Allenâs 609 rushing yards are the most by a quarterback in postseason history. Jackson is second with 602.
Back in the first meeting, Allen was heavily pressured against Baltimore but still managed to connect with receiver Khalil Shakir on a 52-yard miraculous reception. Shakir has since emerged as a top target, hauling in 76 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 10.8 yards per reception in the regular season.
Receiver Curtis Samuel tallied just 31 receptions for 253 yards and one touchdown in the regular season. He made up for the pedestrian numbers by hauling in a 55-yard touchdown reception in the rout over Denver.
Third-year back James Cook tallied 23 carries for 120 yards and one touchdown in the win over Denver. Cook compiled 207 carries for 1,009 yards and an NFL best-tying 16 touchdowns in the regular season.
Safety Taylor Rapp could play a crucial role in Baltimoreâs run and pass coverage. He has tallied 48 solo tackles with two interceptions, one forced fumble and six pass deflections.
Linebacker Dorian Williams has 68 solo tackles with one forced fumble.

The Ravens, winners of the AFC North for two consecutive seasons, have the NFLâs best offense, and look to reach the AFC Championship game for the second consecutive year.
Baltimore is 6-3 on the road this season.
In the strong showing against Pittsburgh, Jackson completed 76.2% of his passes on 16 of 21 for 175 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 15 carries for 81 yards.
He accounted for three touchdowns in the Ravens' victory over the Bills. Jackson went 13 of 18 for 156 yards and two scores, adding 54 yards and a score on the ground. He has rushed for 63 or more yards in five of his last six games.
The two-time MVP is looking for this third piece of hardware after a regular season where he threw for 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns with just four interceptions. His 77.3 QBR is the best in the NFL. Jackson also compiled 915 yards and four touchdowns.
Jacksonâs receiving targets are dwindling as leading receiver Zay Flowers is doubtful to play with a knee injury. Flowers compiled 74 receptions for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 14.3 yards per reception.
Tight end Isaiah Likely led the team with 53 yards against the Steelers. Tight end Mark Andrews, with receivers Nelson Agholor and Rashod Bateman combined for 66 receiving yards. Bateman and Justice Hill each snagged a touchdown.
Bruising running back Derrick Henry has been sensational in his first year with the Ravens. He carried that over to the postseason by tallying 186 yards and two touchdowns in the opening playoff game.
Henry notched 199 rushing yards and one touchdown on 24 carries, while adding three receptions for 10 yards and one score in his first meeting with the Bills this season. Those rushing yards were the most a Bills defense has allowed against a single player since Sean McDermott took the helm in 2017.
In the regular season, he amassed 325 carries for 1,921 yards and an NFL best-tying 16 touchdowns, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. Henry is also tied with Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquan Barkley for the most carries for 10 or more yards this season with 49.
While their offense is menacing, donât overlook Baltimoreâs defensive capabilities, especially their ability to stop the run from opposing quarterbacks. They have allowed the fifth-fewest rushing yards from a QB with 239. Buffalo has allowed the 11th-fewest with 306.
Since Week 11, Baltimore has sharpened its defense to allow just 264 yards per game (-103.9) and 15.4 points per game (-9.9).
Star cornerback Marlon Humphrey tallied six interceptions with 15 pass deflections, two forced fumbles and 50 solo tackles.
Safety Kyle Hamilton has tallied 77 solo tackles, two forced fumbles, nine pass deflections and one interception.
Both teams share the same point differential from the regular season with a plus-157, which is the best in the AFC.
The forecast calls for snow showers and light winds with temperatures in the low 20âs. This points to a potential run-heavy offense on both sides with Allen and Jackson sprinkling in some magic in between.
The winner will advance to the AFC Championship Game for a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 6:30 p.m.
