Katy Perry made headlines recently for her trip to space with the all-female Blue Origin NS-13 flight. During the historic mission, the pop star belted out a tune singing “What a Wonderful World.”

On the ground watching her takeoff and then awaiting her return was her partner, Orlando Bloom. His sweet reactions had people buzzing about their relationship. After getting engaged, they were set to tie the knot in 2020, but those plans fell through when they ran into an issue trying to secure the location they wanted. The pair tried to nail down another date but had to put those plans on the back burner when everything shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In August 2020, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy.

Although they haven’t made it down the aisle just yet, Perry sports a stunning ring from her longtime partner. But how does that sparkler compare to the first one she got from her ex-husband comedian Russell Brand? Here’s more on the star’s engagement rings and which one is worth more.

Perry and Brand met in 2008 when he was hosting the MTV Video Music Awards. Shortly after that, they began a whirling romance and tied the knot in 2010.

Brand had proposed to the “California Girls” artist with a 2-carat diamond.

The jewelry experts at the U.K. retailer Steven Stone looked over the details of the ring and estimated how much it’s worth.

Maxwell Stone commented: “Over the years, Katy Perry has dated and married some very famous faces. She currently sports a gorgeous daisy-shaped engagement ring from Orlando Bloom, but that wasn’t her first sparkler. When Russell Brand proposed to Katy, he did so with a 2-carat diamond engagement ring that’s likely to be worth around $30,000. Though it’s difficult to identify the shape of the diamond it’s set in yellow gold and sat on a thick band.”

After a little more than a year together, things in their relationship soured and in 2011, Brand filed for divorce from Perry citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Perry and Bloom began dating in 2016 but split in 2017. The following year, they reconciled and on Valentine’s Day in 2019, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor proposed to the “Roar” singer. The two took to social media to share the news and showed off some close-up pics of her gorgeous sparkler.

There have been varying reports over the years about how much her ring from Bloom cost, with the estimates ranging between $25,000 to $5 million. Maxwell Stone took and closer look at all the ring’s features to get the best estimate.

He said: “Katy’s engagement ring from Orlando is much more impressive. The yellow gold sparkler features an oval cut ruby centre stone, surrounded by a halo of eight round cut diamonds in a rub-over setting. Ruby is a gemstone that is associated with passion, love, energy, courage, which makes it a particularly romantic choice of stone for an engagement ring. Katy’s unique ring from Orlando is likely to be worth $70,000 — meaning that it’s over double the value of her ring from her previous engagement with Russell.”
