Torres’ husband, Andrew “Andrucha” Waddington is a renowned Brazilian director, screenwriter, producer, and partner in one of the country’s leading production companies, Conspiração Filmes. Much like Torres, and Torres’ legendary mother Fernanda Montenegro, Waddington is key part of the Brazilian film industry.
He got his film career started in 1998 when he directed a documentary about the legendary Brazilian rock band, Os Paralamas do Sucesso. By 2000, he started reaching critical acclaim with his first feature films, including Twins (with Torres in the starring role) and Me You Them. The latter film won a Special Mention at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival.
In 2005, he directed another major success titled The House of Sand. The movie, which starred both Torres and her mom, won the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

Other Waddington films include Party Crashers 1 and 2, the medical TV drama Under Pressure, the Anitta tell-all Anitta: Made in Honório, and the biopic Chacrinha: O Velho Guerreiro, among many more. In 2016, he was also one of the creative directors of the iconic Rio 2016 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
While they’ve kept a low-profile relationship over the years, Waddington has been her plus-one to many of the major events this year, including the Golden Globes and the EE BAFTAs. At the Golden Globes, Torres not only shared a sweet kiss with Waddington when her name was announced, but she gave him a sweet shoutout in her speech too.
“To my mother, to my family, to Andrucha, to Selton [Mello], to my kids, to everybody,” she said. “Thank you very much.”
A photo of Waddington getting teared up during her speech went viral at the time. “If a person doesn’t react like this to an achievement of yours, if instead of celebrating and admiring your victory, they try to steal the spotlight or put you down, don’t waste your time with them!” a user on X wrote.

Together, Waddington and Torres are the proud parents of two boys; 25-year-old Joaquim and 16-year-old Antonio. Their eldest is an actor following in his mom’s footsteps.
Waddington is also a dad to his other two sons, João and Pedro, from his first marriage to art director Kiti Duarte.
