Who is the Man With No Eyes in Yellowjackets? Season 3 Episode 3 uncovers new clues

The Man With No Eyes makes an appearance not once but twice in Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 3, and this time, Taissaās not the only one who can see him. Warning: spoilers ahead!
One thing thatās certain in Yellowjackets: the darkness of the wilderness, whatever āitā is, has followed them home. Whether itās a real spiritual force or the darkness exists within them is yet to be seen, but thereās no denying itās led to real-life consequences.
At the end of Season 2, the present-day survivors congregated at Lottieās commune, performing a ritual that led to the accidental (or perhaps intentional) death of adult Natalie.Ā
Although theyāre feeling the effects of this loss in Yellowjackets Season 3, the wilderness is constantly calling them back. For Tai, sheās been haunted by visions of the Man With No Eyes since childhood, but now heās seemingly stalking all of them.Ā
Who is the Man With No Eyes?ShowtimeHis purpose remains a mystery, but what we do know about him is that heās a creepy figure who appears in visions experienced by Taissa and her grandmother, Nana Bassey. Heās played by Brahm Taylor in Yellowjackets Season 1 and Brody Logan Romhanyi in Seasons 2-3.
In terms of his looks, the Man With No Eyes is very tall and slender (a bit like the Slenderman), with adult Taissa star Tawny Cypress saying heās around eight feet. He has blacked-out eye sockets, long dark hair, and pale skin, and heās always wearing a tight-fitted suit.Ā
Other than the opening credits, he first shows up in Season 1 Episode 3, āThe Dollhouseā, in a flashback to Taiās childhood. Nanna Basseyās on her deathbed with Tai by her side, when all of a sudden she looks to the mirror with a look of terror.Ā

Tai canāt see anything and asks if itās an angel. āDonāt you come over here,ā Bassey says to the mirror. āI mean it, stay away.ā When Tai asks who, she replies, āThat man with no eyes!ā Tai looks at the mirror and sees him, causing her to scream.Ā
āDonāt let him take me,ā Bassey pleads. āDonāt let him take my eyes.ā Itās all very terrifying āĀ it seems heās a bad omen of sorts, one whoās become intertwined with Taiās connection to the wilderness.
ShowtimeCypress was asked about the meaning of the vision by Elle in 2023, to which she explained, āI donāt know the meaning of the Man With No Eyes. I know as much as the audience does.Ā
āI know that sheās been seeing him since childhood. The major questions about Taissa that we all have āĀ I have them too āĀ are not going to get answered until at least Season 3.ā
Up until this moment, only Tai and her grandma have been able to see him. He makes his return in Yellowjackets Season 3 Episode 1, when Tai and Van dine and dash from a restaurant.Ā
What they donāt realize is that the waiter who ran after them has fallen to the ground and died. After getting away, they head to a private spot and Tai sees the Man With No Eyes lurking in the background. She chooses to embrace it and starts kissing Van.Ā
Yellowjackets Season 3 expands the horrorĀ ShowtimeThis all changes in Season 3 Episode 3. Not only does Van also see the Man With No Eyes, but he also makes an appearance in Shaunaās poison-induced nightmare.Ā
You see, Tai starts piecing everything together in the latest installment. After Van tells her that her terminal cancer might not be terminal anymore, Tai tells her about the waiter. āThe waiter was the sacrifice and your new prognosisā¦ well, thatās the gift,ā she says.Ā
Although Vanās hesitant at first, she eventually gives in. Later on, the pair are watching TV when an advert for a place called Ozzieās ice cream parlor comes up. And guess whoās the face of it? The Man With No Eyes.Ā
This time, itās not just Taissa whoās seeing it ā Van sees him too.Ā
In the past timeline, the girls head to coach Benās cave home to hunt him down. While in there, Akilah, Van, and Shauna accidentally get poisoned by some toxic gas.
During Shaunaās drug-induced nightmare, sheās seen in the classroom with the rest of the Yellowjackets (Jackie included), and when the janitor walks past, itās the Man With No Eyes.Ā
Although we still donāt have all the answers, his return has sparked speculation. Over on Reddit, one viewer pointed out how terrifying he is.Ā
Another replied, āThis is why I think Shauna sees it when sheās hallucinating in the caves. If it can scare us, Iām sure the writers are implying that it can subconsciously haunt more than one person since it traumatized them at a young age.Ā
āI believe that there is a logical explanation to everything going on with them in the wilderness and adult timeline.
āBoth teen and adult timelines want to believe in something to cope with their traumas to explain why everything is happening to them and itās explained by a higher power.
āI think everything is coincidental and a mislead for us to either have that superstitious impression or we can believe there is a scientific explanation for all of this.
āAll the survivors have deeply rooted issues (pre-crash even) and thatās what made them strong and willing to survive. I canāt wait to see how they let their beliefs in āthe wildernessā make them justify their actions with one another.ā
