Gladiators is not airing in its usual slot this weekend, but why is it not on and when is the semi-final of the programme?

Airing for eight seasons until 2000, primarily presented by Ulrika Jonsson, the original series featured original Gladiators Wolf, Lightning and Cobra.
After its original cancelation, Gladiators didn’t return until 2008, when it was presented by former Arsenal striker Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher.
The initial revival only ran for two seasons, with the late Caroline Flack replacing Kirsty for the second season, before it went off the air for 15 years.
Last year saw the BBC score a new hit-show by listening to fans’ demands and bringing Gladiators back, with father and son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh on presenting duties.
The most recent episode of the series saw controversy in the semi-finals when referee Mark Clattenburg stopped the game to disqualify contestant Joe F during the Gauntlet challenge.
“Sometimes these decisions don't go your way and he's probably saved me from another big guy at the end I could do without meeting,” Joe said after the decision.
Sadly for fans waiting to see who makes it through the second semi-final, Gladiators is not airing on Saturday night (March 29).
The change to the BBC’s schedule is due to them airing the FA Cup quarter-final clash between Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest.
Live coverage of the match begins at 5pm, running through Gladiators normal Saturday evening timeslot, on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
Following the game, BBC News will be airing at 7.30pm, before The Weakest Link, Casualty and Dope Girls sees viewers through into the night.
This marks the second time in the past month that a major Saturday night programme has been effected by the busy spring sporting schedule.

The fourth episode of the 2025 series of Britian’s Got Talent was pushed back a week on March 15, due to ITV showing live coverage of France v Scotland in the Six Nations.
Thankfully to the delight of its fanbase, Gladiators will be back on Saturday, April 5, at 5.50pm on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.
It remains to be seen if the next round of the FA Cup, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, causes more headaches for TV schedulers.
