Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer Bring Back The Culps to Sing ‘Not Like Us’ and Roast Kendrick Lamar-Drake Beef at ‘SNL50’: ‘Maybe You Two Can Hug It Out’
Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer reprised their roles as the Culps to sing ‘Not Like Us’ and roast Kendrick Lamar and Drake's rap beef at ‘SNL 50.'
The Culps made a special appearance for Friday night’s “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” to perform another jaw-dropping medley of today’s hits. Will Ferrell and Ana Gasteyer reprised their Marty and Bobbi Mohan-Culp to perform some “frisky tunes,” as they put it, including Kendrick Lamar‘s Grammy-winning “Not Like Us”
“Are Kenny Lamar and Drake Graham in the house?” Ferrell asked. “By the way, maybe you two can hug it out tonight in the name of love and fellowship. No? not in hell. Message received.”
The pair emphasized Lamar’s word play in that infamous lyric — “a minor” — and had everyone from Amy Schumer to Mark Ronson in laughter and disbelief.
Following in the SNL tradition of Nick the Lounge Singer, Ferrell and Gasteyer appeared on “Saturday Night Live” as Marty and Bobbi-Mohan Culp throughout the late 90s. They were music teachers whose posh and proper demeanors perfectly clashed with their covers of current pop songs.

Friday’s medley included references to Charli xcx’s “Brat,” and performances of Britney Spears’ “Work Bitch,” Doechii’s “Denial Is River,” Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!,” Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy” and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Body.”
Taking place in Radio City Hall in New York, the “SNL50 Concert” arrives two days before the official “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” a three-hour live broadcast show taking place Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. ET. It’s the latest in a string of celebrations for the sketch comedy show’s 50th anniversary.
The concert lineup is a stacked roster of A-list talent ranging Cher, Dave Grohl and Snoop Dogg to St. Vincent, Wyclef Jean, Bad Bunny, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and many more.
