Two Pints of Lager and a Packet Of Crisps star Will Mellor has revealed that he doesn’t speak to his former co-star Ralf Little, even though the pair host a Two Pints podcast together.
The star, who won acclaim for his role in Mr Bates V The Post Office last year, and is currently hosting the crime documentary series Cops Gone Bad, has recently announced the pair are going on tour with their podcast, but otherwise they go out of their way to spend time apart.
“We don’t get sick of each other, as doing the podcast is the only time we see each other,” he said. “Ralf’s not great on the phone, so he doesn’t answer the phone even if I call him. And we make sure we spend time apart not talking, so that when we’re together for the podcast we have a lot to talk about.”

“We record the podcast once a week, and it is just like two blokes in the pub having a chat. We talk about anything and everything, lots of light stuff, stuff that's happened, true stories, people send in their stories.
"We talk about current affairs, but it's a bit of a free for all to have a bit of fun, and hopefully leave your brain at the door and have some fun with us. And I think some people need a little bit of a release every now and then, and hopefully we give them that.”
While the pair are taking their podcast on the road later this year, there are always rumours that they will reunite for a reunion series of Two Pints of Lager… where they played best mates Gaz and Jonny from 2001, with Will staying in the role until 2011 while Ralf left the series in 2006.

“I’ve said I’d do it, Ralf has said he’d do it, but the rest is a non-starter,” Will said sadly. Apparently a script for a reunion episode was written, but neither BBC One or BBC Three wanted it. “That amazed me, after seeing how well Gavin & Stacey has gone,” he added.
“Our show ran for 10 years and it's something that I would always do for the people that supported the show, because the reason it ran for so long is because the public got behind it. And it was for a lot of people that were represented at the time, working class, younger people having a good time. Now we're older, it was asking what are we doing now, at this age? And it was very funny and very well written, too.”
While a new episode of Two Pints of Lager may not be on the cards anytime soon, Will has plenty to keep him busy. As well as his podcast and live tour with Ralf, he is the presenter of new series Cops Gone Bad, which investigates cases of police officers who have used their profession to attempt to get away with often very serious crimes.
Will is very passionate about his role in the series. “I’m asking the questions and putting pressure on the powers that be. This has happened. What we're doing to make sure this doesn't happen again?” he said
Cops Gone Bad begins on Monday 17 February at 9pm, Crime & Investigation Original.
