Yellowstone and its subsequent spin offs by show creator Taylor Sheridan are currently available to stream on Netflix and Paramount+ but it appears this latest series will debut on CBS, with the channel also said to be working on a a spinoff that will follow Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly and her on screen lover Rip Wheeler, portrayed by Cole Hauser.
However, in this latest rumoured series starring Luke Grimes, his co-stars Kelsey Asbille and Brecken Merrill are expected to rejoin him as they reprise their roles as Kayce's wife Monica and their son Tate, according to the Daily Mail.
‌
Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone franchise currently includes two prequel series, 1883 and 1923 as well as sequel series The Madison which stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams and Matthew Fox.
Fan favourite Grimes previously worked alongside Yellowstone star Kevin Costner from 2018 to 2014, who played John Dutton on the show until he was killed off in a November 2024 episode of the original series.
Costner's leading character as ranch owner John Dutton was abruptly written off the script when the actor suddenly exited the show over scheduling conflicts with his Western movie franchise Horizon.
‌
The show continued for another month before Yellowstone came to an end with its fifth and final season.
For another month after Costner's exit from the series, Grimes revealed they did not contact one another amid rumoured 'tension'.
‌
He told Men's Health in December 2024: "I haven't talked to him since. It's not a case of any hard feelings or anything; it's just, he's Kevin Costner.
"He's a big deal. I do have his phone number — I just don't feel like it's my place to reach out. He can reach out to me if he wants to. None of us saw it coming the way it did, and obviously there was news about possible blowups behind the scenes or whatever.
‌
"But just, like, in life, man, these things happen. They happen fast and they're not predictable."
Comparing Costner's sudden exit to the death of his own father, he said: "I lost my father a few years ago. It happened fast, and it was not the way that you would think that that would happen.
"In life, these things happen and then people have to start making decisions. And in our little Yellowstone world, that helped ramp the show up into a boil."

Grimes said that Costner's decision to quit the show after nearly eight years instilled a 'finality' to Yellowstone. He told People in November 2024: "Him not coming back felt like, "Okay, we're going to have to land this plane now for real,' he told People in November 2024.
"I think the patriarch leaving was always going to be part of the story. That's always where it was headed, like, "What do these kids do? What does this family do when their rock is gone?"
