Zara McDermott has been flooded with messages from fans as she spoke about the 'best things in life' as rumours swirl about her love life.

The reality star-turned-documentary maker split from her boyfriend Sam Thompson at the end of last year after five years together. Zara has since been seen throwing herself into work with a number of new documentaries up her sleeve.

But she is currently hitting the headlines as its been reported that she is dating former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, which comes weeks after fans spotted him liking her posts on social media.

According to the Mirror, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant and the singer have been spotted looking loved-up on a cosy date date.

But Zara, or Louis, are yet to comment and Zara has taken to social media to share a glimpse into her private life away from the cameras.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a sweet video of her running around with her goddaughter. Zara typed across the sweet black and white clip: "The best things in life aren't things," before adding a red heart emoji.

She also captioned the post with a simple red heart emoji before the comments came flooding in. @hayleysmith_soulsanctuary said: "So beautiful @zara_mcdermott." @myhomeinwiltshire commented: "So so true."

@annie_shorty8585 wrote: "This just adorable." @gill2k16 replied: "Absolutely agree with this. I adore my little nieces and nephews. They always brighten my day." @beautycalendars added: "So cute and true."

It comes after fans quickly advised Zara switches off her comments on her posts as her recent important message about her stalking documentary became overshadowed by fans of singer Louis Tomlinson, who it has been reported Zara is dating.

@cnbluee28 said: "Close your comments section pretty." @urfav.l4ur3x echoed: "hi love, i think u should really turn off your comments cause yk some people already start to comment about u and louis , hope u okay, lots of love."

Jumping to her defence, @florpirreco fumed: "She is talking about her amazing and important job and some of you are talking about Louis? Wtf is wrong with you, people? Respect her job and space, women are more than a man." @bethwilson4 added: "Well done @zara_mcdermott you are doing such important work and a great role model for young women."

In the post in question, the 27-year-old could be see surrounded by police cars as she stood with a big camera on her shoulder. Captioning the post, Zara wrote: "It’s our final week of filming for my documentary about stalking, and honestly it’s been one of the most eye opening, emotional films I’ve ever made.

"I’ve learnt so much about the strength of victims / survivors through this process… some of these women are the strongest I’ve ever met. Stalking is one of the most isolating crimes out there. The pure determination of the women I’ve spoken to, to continually put one foot in front of the other every single day, is nothing short of inspirational.

"I’ve been spending time with the police too, to get a greater understanding of how they deal with this crime; a crime that can be difficult to convict. I spoke with an incredible woman today, and I felt her happiness when I told her about the documentary we are making.

"This woman had been going through stalking after a decade of an abusive relationship, and she never fully understood the impact of stalking before it happened to her. To hear the determination in her voice to share her story hit me deeply. Talking and sharing can be vindicating and freeing. I am so grateful to do the job that I do; to be able to hopefully make a difference in this world and make some positive change alongside the incredible people I am working with. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

She added: "This documentary series has been 18 months in the making, from development to where we are now. It’s been a long process of finding a careful balance because of the sensitivity of this programme, but I hope it opens up conversations at home, in schools and in society."
