KBS’s upcoming drama “Who Is She! has highlighted three key relationships between the drama’s characters that viewers should look forward to!
A remake of the famous film “Miss Granny,” which has spawned multiple remakes in other countries, “Who Is She!” is a music romance drama about Oh Mal Soon (Kim Hae Sook), a woman in her 70s who suddenly transforms into 20-year-old Oh Doo Ri (Jung Ji So), and gets a second chance at living out her dreams of becoming a singer.
Jung Jinyoung stars as Daniel Han, the head producer at UNIS Entertainment. Kim Hae Sook plays the 70-year-old Oh Mal Soon who turns young overnight, while Jung Ji So plays the 20-year-old version of Mal Soon, Oh Doo Ri. Chae Won Bin plays Ha Na, Mal Soon’s granddaughter and the only daughter of Ban Ji Sook (Seo Young Hee) and Choi Min Seok (In Gyo Jin).
Ahead of the drama’s premiere, here are three key relationships to look forward to in “Who Is She!”:
Oh Mal Soon and her daughter Ban Ji Sook
In the upcoming Episode 1, a rift forms between Mal Soon, her daughter Ban Ji Sook, and her son-in-law Choi Min Seok. Min Seok, betrayed by a private academy instructor he worked with for three years, tries to hide the matter but is discovered by Mal Soon and his daughter Choi Ha Na. Begging them to keep the secret from Ji Sook, the three agree to conceal the truth. Later, Min Seok subtly hints at his situation to Ji Sook when she returns home, but she responds with cold indifference.
To make matters worse, Mal Soon also clashes with Ji Sook during a family meal. Min Seok and Ha Na find themselves helplessly caught in the middle of their fight. The sudden icy atmosphere raises questions about the underlying cause of their conflict. Furthermore, Ha Na announces that she wants to give up on the college entrance exam to follow her dreams. Mal Soon sides with Ha Na, but Ji Sook lashes out at her mother, saying something she should never have said. The resulting discord leaves both Mal Soon and Ji Sook deeply hurt, setting the stage for a tense and emotionally charged confrontation.
Oh Mal Soon and Oh Doo Ri
After a fight with Ji Sook, Mal Soon leaves home and suddenly finds herself magically transformed into a 20-year-old. Kim Hae Sook portrays the 70-year-old Mal Soon, while Jung Ji So plays the 20-year-old version of Mal Soon, Oh Doo Ri. The seamless synchronization between the two actresses, portraying the same character at different ages, is one of the key highlights of the first episode.
Oh Doo Ri and star producer Daniel Han
In Episode 2, the 20-year-old Oh Doo Ri crosses paths with Daniel Han, a producer at UNIS Entertainment. While searching for a missing trainee named Emily, Daniel is shocked when he hears Oh Doo Ri’s singing—especially because she looks just like Emily. He blocks her path at a convenience store and asks her to return to UNIS Entertainment. Confused and frustrated, Oh Doo Ri refuses and lashes out, leaving Daniel flustered by her sudden change in demeanor.
Episodes 1 and 2 of “Who Is She!” will air back-to-back on December 18 starting at 9:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
