On January 14, a video titled “Can I call you My Hyeok? EP. 73 Faker” was uploaded to the YouTube channel “TEO”.
Host Jang Do-yeon asked, “No matter what ad it is, when there is a poster or something, people ask, ‘Why does it always look like Faker has been photoshopped?’ Why do you think that happens?” Faker replied, “It didn’t look photoshopped to me! It just looked like me! It looks natural to me. I mean, the ad… It was actually me.” He expressed mild frustration, emphasizing that the ads had been fact-checked by him personally.
Jang Do-yeon then mentioned, “I don’t know if this is recent news, but Benz gave you a gift? The picture of you there too… It looks photoshopped too.” Faker responded, “Do I look photoshopped right now?” This sparked laughter, with Jang Do-yeon joking, “We can’t be trapped in a photoshopped video!” Faker then talked about the luxury car gifted to him. “I am treasuring it well. I don’t drive it since I don’t really go for drives without a purpose. The Faker Edition has my name embroidered on the seats, which can feel a bit awkward, but I’m grateful for it.”
When asked about nicknames fans use for him, Jang Do-yeon playfully called him “My Hyeok”, but Faker drew a line “My Hyeok? You’d have to be close to call me that”, which made everyone laugh. Jang Do-yeon joked, “I feel like you’re stopping me from using it. I’ll just call you Faker comfortably.” Discussing his family, Faker shared, “They are proud of me. They’re happiest when I come home, regardless of the results, because I don’t visit often. They don’t really care much about my performance.” Jang Do-yeon added, “That was an embarrassing question… Families don’t care about the result!”
The highlight of the episode was when Faker revealed the total amount of prize money he’s earned over 10 years. Asked if the prize money is deposited right away, Faker explained, “Yes, since it’s a large corporation. The process is clean.” He then revealed, “The total prize money I’ve earned so far is probably around ₩2 billion.”
