The only history Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are making this season is of the ominous variety â and Rodgers is doing his best to have a sense of humor about it all.Â
During the Jetsâ 40-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, December 29 â New Yorkâs sixth defeat in seven games â Rodgers, 41, was sacked four times, becoming the most sacked quarterback in the history of the NFL.Â
Rodgers has now been sacked 568 times, surpassing Tom Bradyâs mark of 565.Â
âYeah, I got Tom on that,â Rodgers joked to reporters after the game.Â

Ultimately, Rodgers said the game was indicative of how things have gone all year for the Jets.
âYeah, I mean, itâs kind of like the season â it just got away from us,â he explained. âToo many games got away from us. This game got away from us. We were moving the ball well, and then we just hit a wall. And thatâs been kind of the season, too.â
The Jets will close out the regular season on Sunday, January 5 against the Miami Dolphins. What happens after that is anybodyâs guess. Rodgers has indicated heâd like to come back and play for the Jets next season, but no official decision has been made by the team.Â
