Dame Anna Wintour removed her signature glasses to be honoured by King Charles in a ceremony this week.
Vogue magazine's editor-in-chief, 75, was made a Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour in an investiture held at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday. She was appointed by King Charles, 76, at the Palace for "services to fashion".
It's described as a "special award granted to those who have made a major contribution to the arts, science, medicine, or government lasting over a long period of time". It was revealed that Anna would receive the honour when she was named in the King's first Birthday Honours List in 2023.
Anna opted to wear a grey jacket and matching skirt for the special occasion, along with a white top underneath her blazer. The media executive wore grey boots as part of her outfit and accessorised with a statement purple necklace.
Although the honoured guest was seen in her signature dark glasses outside the venue, Anna received her medal from King Charles whilst not wearing her usual accessory. She's previously described her sunglasses as a "prop," telling BBC News last year: "They help me be seen and not be seen."
It isn't the first time that Anna has been honoured at the Palace. She was previously appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and then Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) by the late Queen.

As reported by PA this week, she said outside the venue: "It's wonderful to be back at Buckingham Palace and I was completely surprised and overwhelmed to be given this great honour." She then went on to share: "The last time I was here the Queen gave me my medal and we both agreed that we had been doing our job a very long time, and then this morning His Majesty asked me if this meant I was going to stop working and I said firmly 'no'."
The Order of the Companions of Honour was founded by George V in 1917 to "recognise services of national importance". There are said to be 65 members at any one time though the Royal Family's website adds: "Non-British nationals, including Commonwealth figures, can be honorary members of the Order, and count as additional to the main 65."
Celebrities who have previously received the honour include the late Dame Maggie Smith, Sir Elton John and Sir David Attenborough. Last year, Princess Kate was appointed Royal Companion of The Order of the Companions of Honour by her father-in-law King Charles in a ceremony, with her the first member of the Royal Family to receive the honour.
