BBC Comic Relief host Tom Allen experienced an 'embarrassing' wardrobe moment as he swapped outfits just minutes into the live show.
Comic Relief made a triumphant return this year, celebrating its landmark 40th anniversary with a star-studded Red Nose Day extravaganza aimed at delighting viewers.
Ahead of the big night, Britain has come together in a fundraising frenzy for the good cause, with fans eagerly cheering on Jamie Laing during his herculean effort to complete five ultramarathons, culminating in his grand entry at Media City in Salford tonight.
For the first time in its history, the show proceeded without the veteran presence of Sir Lenny Henry, introducing instead a dazzling array of well-loved celebrities to take charge of the esteemed event.
Joining forces to create an evening brimming with humour were Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Alison Hammond and Rylan, alongside Alesha Dixon, Tom Allen and AJ Odudu, reports Bristol Live.
But in an unexpected twist shortly after the broadcast began, Rylan couldnt help but tease co-presenter Tom about his sartorial decision, as Tom kicked off the show donning a chequered jumper, in stark contrast to the rest of the smartly dressed hosts.
Alison duly admired Jonathan's attire, remarking: "You are looking good Jonathan. I love the 80s suit and the fact that you kept in with the retro vibe."
The room erupted into laughter when Jonathan responded: "Honey this is a new suit, this is not an 80s suit." A beat later, Alison interjected: "Oh that's a little bit awkward isn't it."
Rylan couldn't resist poking fun at his co-star Tom, quipping: "While we are talking about outfits, Tom I love you mate but what have you come dressed as?"

The room erupted with laughter when he remarked: "Well that is exactly how I feel."AJ chimed in, telling Tom: "Well I think you look dapper."
However, it was apparent Tom wasn't convinced by his wardrobe choice, as later in the programme he swapped his outfit for a slick, sharp suit to present the show.
