BBC Comic Relief viewers make 'nonsense' complaint about Oasis sketch

BBC Comic Relief viewers shared the same complaint as the televised fundraiser aired a sketch parody of the Oasis reunion.
The Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas performed their Oasis brothers sketch, alongside Hugh Dennis, Martin Lewis, Micky Flanagan, Vernon Kay, Mark Silcox, Tasha Ghouri, Melvin Odoom, Roisin Conaty, and Piers Morgan.

After first airing in 1985, the annual Comic Relief celebrated its 40th year after Sir Lenny Henry and Richard Curtis formed the idea. Comic Relief is designed to raise money to support those at risk of domestic abuse and families affected by conflict and climate change.
Last year it was Lenny Henry's final time as the host of Comic Relief, after nearly four decades of presenting. Presenters Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Alison Hammond, Rylan Clark, and Alesha Dixon took on the task this year to help encourage the public to raise funds.
In between the sketches, Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing hobbled onto the Red Nose Day stage hours after completing his Ultra Marathon Man challenge on Friday.
“It was a long way, but it was an incredible journey. The people were amazing. The donations were amazing. You guys here are incredible,” he said on the show.
“The whole thing was just awesome in every single way. It was amazing. It was amazing.” Joel Dommett revealed Laing had helped to raise £2,053,835.
After sketches including an EastEnders special that looked at Phil Mitchell seeking treatment for his depression, a Strictly Come Dancing mockumentary, and a Not Going Out and Beyond Paradise crossover, it was time for the Oasis reunion movie.
The feuding Gallagher brothers announced their long-awaited reunion in August 2024 with a worldwide tour taking place this summer.
The actors also recreated “that ticket fiasco”, when fans saw ticket prices soar due to the use of dynamic pricing on Ticketmaster. TV presenter and journalist Piers Morgan played the “Ticket Master” who could be seen meeting the brothers in a dark and spooky castle.
“Let me reassure you personally, everyone will be treated completely fairly,” he told them.
However, some viewers weren't pleased with the sketch and took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to complain. @jamespir wrote: "What is this nonsense".
Article continues below@DelBoy80s added: "Why can't people write comedy sketches anymore????" as @Prince__Philip joked: "This isn't a movie it's a trailer."
Other viewers disagreed and enjoyed the sketch, as @JuliSavage666 added: "Loved the Oasis sketch" and @itsnickelflysk3 penned: "This Oasis sketch is hilarious."
