BBC Red Nose Day viewers all say the same thing about 'horrendous' Oasis sketch

Comic Relief's Red Nose Day is synonymous with its unique and humorous sketches, and this year proved to be no different.
Friday night's event featured an array of entertaining crossovers, including a mash-up between Beyond Paradise and Not Going Out, People Just Do Nothing meets Gladiators, and a special enactment from Strictly Come Dancing.

Article continues belowOne distinct highlight was the musical element of the programme. Reuniting for a comical cause, former stars of The Inbetweeners Joe Thomas and James Buckley came together to play Liam and Noel Gallagher in a fake documentary titled Oasis: The Reunion: The Movie.
The parody told the tale of the notorious sibling rivalry as the Manchester-born brothers ascend to international rock acclaim.
The star-studded sketch also included appearances from Martin Lewis, Micky Flanagan, Vernon Kay, Tasha Ghouri, Melvin Odoom, and Piers Morgan, all donning the guise of notable personas during Oasis's epic journey.

In the satirical short, Joe and James portray the Gallagher brothers contemplating a reunion, spurred by the financial incentives, only to erupt into argument before they could even begin practice sessions, reports the Mirror.
Viewers rushed online to express their thoughts on the sketch. One commenter enthusiastically anticipated the reaction of Liam Gallagher: "Can't wait to see Liam's reaction to this".

However, another bluntly stated: "This is horrendous," a third distressed viewer exclaimed, "Make it stop!" and another decided: "What fresh hell is this? I'm off to bed."
Other critics didn't hold back, writing: "That Oasis sketch on #ComicRelief might just be the worst thing I have ever seen," while another displeased fan confirmed his negative opinion, saying: "I knew this Oasis sketch would be terrible when it was announced, and now I know it's just as terrible, if not more."
Before the documentary aired, James shared his thoughts on the filming process, explaining: "I had such a fun time with Joe, making this sketch for Comic Relief, and was honoured to be asked to be a part of it.

"And, of course, being a huge Oasis fan, getting to be Liam for the day was a dream come true."
Joe added: "I grew up watching Comic Relief and the big sketch was always a highlight of the night. So it's both thrilling and nerve wracking to be a part of it."

Oasis have so far confirmed 14 dates across the UK and Ireland including two August dates at Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium.
It comes as Comic Relief caused outrage with viewers who threatened to "switch off" just minutes in. Comic Relief celebrated its 40th anniversary with a star-studded presenter line-up featuring Rylan Clark, Alison Hammond, Davina McCall, Joel Dommett, Jonathan Ross, Alesha Dixon, AJ Odudu and Tom Allen on the BBC special.
