Masked Singer fans shock as Kingfisher isn't comedian - and don't recognise star
Masked Singer fans had been absolutely certain Kingfisher was famous comedian Harry Hill since the very first episode but got a huge shock as he was unmasked
The Masked Singer fans were left absolutely gobsmacked after a shock unmasking on the ITV show. The remaining seven celebrities took to the stage to perform again on Saturday night as they fought for a place in the semi finals next weekend.
Host Joel Dommett revealed there was a double elimination - and Kingfisher was the first to be unmasked. But fans who had been certain it was comedian Harry Hill inside the costume were stunned as the actual celebrity unveiled themselves.
Artist Sir Grayson Perry, known for his ceramics and Channel 4 documentaries as well as Grayson's Art Club during the pandemic, was actually inside the costume, leaving the audience and judges with their jaws dropping. Mo Gilligan told him: "I would have bet my house it was Harry Hill."
"I was doing my Harry Hill impression with my body," Grayson chuckled. He added: "I embraced the spirit of the show."
He revealed he had chosen his costume adding: "I wanted to be somebody cute." "I've had an absolutely lovely time," he continued. "I can't hear, I can't see, I can't even scratch my nose. The shock of taking my head off is seeing you lot!"
Baffled viewers were stunned it wasn't Harry Hill behind the mask, after they had been screaming his name at their TVs since the very first episode. Others were shocked as they didn't recognise Grayson.
"Who in the blue hell is Grayson Perry???," one fan asked on X. A second commented: "No idea who he is #MaskedSingerUK."
"Who is this fake Harry Hill imposter #maskedsingeruk," another fan asked. "No idea who he is, sorry lol #MaskedSingerUK," a fourth added.
Another fan commented: "I mean, Grayson Perry needs to take up a new role as a Harry Hill impersonator! #MaskedSingerUK," while another said: "I would never have guessed Sir Grayson Perry #MaskedSingerUK."
Another fan added: "How the whole hashtag was wrong. everyone was convinced it was Harry Hill #MaskedSingerUK."
