Mattea Conforti Joins Hulu’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Sequel ‘The Testaments’

Hulu‘s The Handmaid’s Tale sequel series The Testaments has added Mattea Conforti (The Many Saints of Newark, Power) to its cast of series regulars, which also includes Chase Infiniti, Lucy Halliday, Ann Dowd and Rowan Blanchard.
Conforti will play ‘Becka,’ a girl of humble origins who attends school with Gilead’s elite. As she comes of age, she starts to question whether she wants the life she’s being groomed for.
The Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments are based on the novel by Margaret Atwood. Like the mothership series, Bruce Miller serves as creator, showrunner and executive producer.

Miller executive produces with The Handmaid’s Tale‘s team Warren Littlefield, Steve Stark, and Mike Barker, who will also direct the first three episodes. MGM Television is the studio.
Conforti most recently played ‘Young Janice Soprano’ in the Warner Bros. feature The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to HBO’s mob drama The Sopranos, and ‘Young Elsa’ in Disney’s Frozen II. Previously, Conforti starred as a series regular on the AMC series NOS4A2 opposite Zachary Quinto and Ashleigh Cummings.
She previously recurred as ‘Elisa Marie’ on the hit Starz series Power, led by Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora. Additional TV credits include Gotham from FOX and Netflix’s The Good Cop. She is also the voice of Moon on the animated series Ollie and Moon.
