The pop singer earned six Grammy nominations with her sixth studio album âShort Nâ Sweetâ earning her nods in the categories for Best Pop Vocal Album, Album Of The Year and Best New Artist. Her track âPlease Please Pleaseâ earned a nomination for Song Of The Year, while her hit song âEspressoâ is up for Best Pop Solo Performance and Record Of The Year.
While speaking to PEOPLE, Carpenter reflected on her career and said: âIâve always been true to myself and believed in my work since I was young. Iâve realized that itâs always been about the small baby steps that you take over time to get you to this point.â
She continued: âI donât think I have fully reflected yet, as Iâm also trying to be present in the moment. But Iâm just happy to see my songs connect with so many people from all walks of life. Thatâs why I love to write songs.â

Carpenter got her start as a Disney actress starring in shows and films such as Girl Meets World, Sofia The First and Adventures In Babysitting. She released her debut LP âEyes Wide Openâ in 2015 followed by 2016âs âEvolutionâ, 2018âs âSingular: Act Iâ and 2019âs âSingular: Act IIâ, 2022âs âEmails I Canât Sendâ and 2024âs âShort Nâ Sweetâ.
She went viral on TikTok with her track âNonsenseâ back in 2022 and âFeatherâ the following year, which saw her commence her rise as a pop music powerhouse. âShort Nâ Sweetâ, which marked Carpenterâs sixth album, debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200 chart.

Carpenter also became the first solo artist since The Beatles to place two simultaneous Top 3 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, with âPlease Please Pleaseâ landing at the top spot and âEspressoâ at Number Three.
