When hip-hop mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs rose to fame, everybody wanted to hang out with him. Diddy was the ultimate host, only inviting the best of the best to his parties. They were so cool that even when Diddy went on talk shows, he was asked about these massive events.
In a resurfaced interview, Diddy explains what exactly it takes to throw the perfect party, referring to it as “the menu.”

Diddy would sometimes have hundreds of people to his parties, and one planner later revealed that he would drop as much as $500,000 per event on anything from alcohol to mirrors for his after parties.
During a 2002 interview with Conan O’Brien, Diddy revealed what it took to plan the perfect party and — said out-of-pocket things like how it’s important to lock the doors and turn off the air conditioning, so people sweat. O’Brien did say it sounded “dangerous,” and while he said it in a joking manner, he might have been half-serious.
“Women. Beautiful women, of course,” Diddy said when asked about what it takes to throw a good party. “There’s enough ladies to go around.”
“You have to listen; I’m giving you the menu,” Diddy said shortly after.
In the moment, the audience loved it. However, fast forward more than 20 years, and the interview appeared to uncover some of the dangerous allegations that Diddy faces today. While plenty of celebrities did attend his parties, these days, nobody wants to talk about them.
Once the arrest was made in September 2024, celebrities scrambled to get as far away from Diddy as possible. People Diddy once knew well, like Wendy Williams and rapper Tim “Dawg” Patterson, have spoken out about Diddy’s secrets and his childhood.
Producer Suge Knight, who is currently in prison on a voluntary manslaughter conviction, said that Diddy’s life is “in danger” because of how many celebrities want to disassociate with them for fear of their own names coming out.
“I’ll tell you what, Puffy, your life is in danger ’cause you know the secrets of who’s involved in that little secret room you guys are participating in,” Knight said. Diddy is currently in jail until his trial begins in May.
